Bart Stupak retiring
Just heard today the good news, Bart Stupak is calling it quits... who knows what would've happened without him, but one thing is for sure, he helped make the Health Care Bill look kosher and now we're stuck with the bill while he enjoys his retirement.
Anyway I doubt without the Tea Party Coalition he would've retired so easily, so I think it's a victory for the Tea Party Movement that he's giving up.
I think he definitely saw the writing on the wall... not just from the tea party movements but from the vast majority of Americans who DO NOT WANT this country go into racism. It's stuff like this about money and the insanity that will mean that the tea party movement shall continue to go across all party lines, common ground we can all agree on is that you shouldn't spend money you don't have on bills that nobody has read!
for sure, if everyone loved him for helping push this country closer to bankruptcy I'm pretty sure he'd hang around to be elected with a 95% approval rating and bask in the glory... but like you said, he saw the writing on the wall and didn't want to hang around for the conclusion.
