Does Christianity have any specific financial teachings?

I go to Church weekly and all that but I'm not really much of a theological expert... it seems a lot of the people screwing up the budget these days couldn't care less about God. I always thought it was right to lead a commonsense lifestyle and not spend more money than you take in. But I'd be curious to know if anyone has any conservative Christian teachings when it comes to balancing things in life or maybe even some Christian commentators writing about how a lack of God helped cause this horrible crisis.

I'm not sure about anything specific but I think the general moral code preaches modesty and that's what seems to be most ignored in the beltway where half the population seems to have no problem screwing up half the country and then voting themselves pay raises etc etc.

I can say that the country is trying to take the word of God out of the picture, at a time when we need him the most. Our government has done nothing but screw up since the they took office. They don't care about anybody but immigrants and themselves.

Why is everyone "Anonymous" ? Same person?

Look, it's great to have an outlook where we think, "Oh, but the President/King/ Prime Minister is Christian; God will bless our country".  Unfortunately, if we're talking about the Christian model of salvation/religion/however, a reletionship is personal between the Christian and his Savior.

Translation: just because our political leaders may be true Christians (and in some cases it may even seem apparent) in their personal lives - after all, we all have those - doesn't necessarily mean that will translate into their jobs. And by the way, remember who the Word refers to as the Master Politician ;]. No joke.

Abraham gave God one tenth of all his possessions...i believe a christain should tithe...one tenth of their income. at the church they attend of course and to be financially responsible. i personally fine that somehow everything works out when i tithe and attend church regularly. God blesses those who bless Him.
