I hate no bid contracts
No bid contracts are one of the things that I believe should be outlawed if the USA is going to get out of this stupid mess that bad budgets have put us in. I mean if a company is providing a service and whilst it's reasonable that the government has to pay for services, why should any company get a free ride without any sort of competition or bidding process. What's more screwed up is half the time it seems to be that the contracts are going to the old buddies of whoever awards them in the first place. No bid contracts should be outlawed unless there's some sort of unlikely emergency.
That's right, companies must compete fairly. No bid contracts goes against every tea party ideal and everything the tea party movement stands for. Higher quality companies risk bankruptcy when no bid contracts are given to buddies of powerful politicians. It's plain theft, obviously the government needs to pay for services from American companies but it must always go to whoever offers the best quailty and the best deal, not whoever pays the most lobbyists. I think it's one of the primary reasons of support for tea party ideals and the tea party movement in general because people are fed up with back room deals.
